Rose Washed Oak KP95
The Rose Washed Oak KP95 is another relatively new addition to the UK Knight Tile range, having been brought in from the European ranges of Karndean mid to late last year (2017) due to it being a popular and beautiful product. It has since become a sought after colour in the UK Knight Tile range and is continuing to move onwards and upwards this season.
The Rose Washed oak planks have a worn lime-washed appearance with an authentic surface texture. It also features a really diverse pattern variation between tiles to complete that ‘real wood’ look and feel in your room of choice. The colouration has hints of pink and rosy hues which is in stark contrast, and a great alternative, to the usual brown and grey floors that feature in the vast majority of the Knight Tile woods range. Having this lovely colouration means that it works very well with soft pastel and neutral interior design options.
In order to further personalise your room you could decide to add Karndean Design Strips. You could create a ‘ships decking’ effect by placing the strips between the tiles, or use them to create a border around the edges of your room. The thinner 3mm or 10mm strips can be used alone or in combination with the wider 10mm or 30mm widths to create a tramline effect.
The product has a 0.3mm wear layer with an overall thickness of 2mm. It is also one of the wider Knight Tile wood effect planks, with dimensions of 915mm length and 152mm width (36 inches x 6 inches in old measures).
Distressed Oak VGW82T
Distressed Oak VGW82T from the Karndean Van Gogh range, has been an extremely popular flooring colour over the years. This year is proving to be no exception with the popularity of grey/brown tones. Being similar (slightly darker hues) to the Country Oak VGW81T in colour and tone, the Distressed Oak has a more pronounced and striking knot and grain detail. It has a rustic and traditional appearance which creates a great base for many interior design options.
The planks come in the standard Van Gogh format of 1220mm x 179mm. It does not have bevelled edges, and has a wear layer thickness of 0.55mm giving an overall thickness of 3mm.
You won’t go far wrong with this great luxury vinyl tile from Karndean.
Being a brand of flooring that is enjoying a great deal of popularity, many people in the UK, and now worldwide, have heard of or even used Karndean products in their homes, office and work spaces. A question that is posed to us quite regularly by customers looking for a floor covering is often, ‘What is Karndean?’.
Well…what is it?
Firstly Karndean is a flooring company that began in 1973 as a small family business, which has expanded and grown into one of the worlds best known and respected flooring companies. They have a drive for creating innovative, beautiful and versatile products as showcased by the latest range of Karndean Looselay Longboard.
Karndean is a vinyl flooring product manufactured from calcium carbonate (limestone), polyvinyl chloride and pigments. It has a five layer structure comprising of two PVC backing layers, one high definition photographic (printed) layer, a single clear PVC embossed wear layer and a top polyurethane protective coating.
In the manufacturing process the raw materials are mixed and heated. This mixture is then laid into sheets to create the backing or the clear PVC layers. Those sheets are then cut and laminated with a printed film. It then gets coated with a lacquer and tempered. Finally the sheets are cut into planks or tiles and then packaged. Quality checks are undertaken at each stage of the process.
And that, in brief, is what Karndean is. A Luxury Vinyl Tile product that not only looks fantastic in homes and commercial spaces alike, but is also extremely versatile in application. REMEMBER…Karndean is NOT a laminate flooring!
